Capturing the market: the Recaro CL3710 with new features

"Our CL3710 opened a new dimension when we first introduced it two years ago. The economy class seat for long-haul flights impresses with its low weight. Weighing less than 12 kilograms, it is the lightest product in its class. Even with a 29-inch seat pitch, it offers maximum legroom. This has partly been achieved by the patented high literature pocket and other smart solutions", explains Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating. "Since its premiere in 2013, the CL3710 has been in a steep ascent."

Numerous Recaro customers around the world have ordered the CL3710 for their fleet: At the end of 2014, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines became the first airline to enter the seat into service. CL3710 sales are now in the triple-digit million Euro range. „We are excited about the large number of orders received", says Mark Hiller. „With its

unique combination of ergonomic comfort, space savings and light weight, the CL3710 has set new standards for long-haul economy class flights. Customers have ordered our premium product for several Boeing and Airbus single-aisle as well as wide-body models."

Keeping with the tradition of continuous improvement of the CL3710 as a pioneering innovation, Recaro Aircraft Seating is unveiling new features at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2015. The new fold-out footrest with integrated footnet enlarges the superior comfort for passengers especially in sleeping position. The new cup holder enables safe placement of drinks without folding out the complete tray table. A one-piece table option is another possibility for customizing the CL3710 according to individual customer requirements.

The CL3710 design has been honored with the coveted "iF Design Award 2015." The CL3710 with a pioneering seat-IFE integration has also made it to the finals of the international industry prize "Crystal Cabin Award 2015" in the category "Passenger Comfort Systems": At the Aircraft Interiors Expo, Recaro is exhibiting the successful integration of a 13.3-inch monitor in this seat – the largest monitor generation in a Recaro economy class seat to date. The expert panel will announce the winners on April 14, 2015.
