Recaro Aircraft Seating presents its most successful newly developed product of the last years at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) from April 4 to 6, 2017, in Hamburg. The long-haul economy class seat, which received the German Design Award in 2016 and whose innovative power is emphasized by 18 patent applications, has filled Recaro’s books with around 200,000 orders since its introduction. A total of 32 international airlines including Qatar Airways, KLM and Air China place their trust in this seat, to offer their economy-class passengers an outstanding flight experience.

EASA certifies Recaro as DOA
SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany. In the future, Recaro Aircraft Seating will be offering its customers comprehensive service for modification and retrofit projects in the aircraft cabin as a certified Design Organization (DOA). By awarding the certificate, the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) is extending the rights and obligations for the handling and approval of cabin equipment projects to the German aircraft seat manufacturer. This enables customers to save time and money.

More spaciousness and comfort with Recaro’s Flex Seat concept
SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany. The “Smart Cabin Reconfiguration” concept, a collaborative research effort between Airbus, THK and Recaro, was nominated as a finalist for the Crystal Cabin Award 2017. The innovation from Recaro is called Flex Seat. With a simple sliding seat concept, seat spacing can be increased for passengers when flights are not fully occupied. To this end, the proven and award-winning SL3510 economy class seat for short- and medium-haul flights is simply folded up, and the front seat rows are then pulled apart like an accordion to increase the seat spacing. This results in significantly more space for passengers. German aircraft manufacturer Recaro Aircraft Seating is presenting this world premiere at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2017 at the beginning of April in Hall 7 / Stand B20.

Five stars above the clouds
