Recaro wins DIN Prize in the Best Practice category
SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany. Recaro Aircraft Seating, the German aircraft seat manufacturer, was honored with an award in the Best Practice category in the context of the 2016 DIN Prize competition. The company was awarded the prize for “a significant increase in quality and consistent implementation of the latest ISO GPS standards (geometrical product specification and testing) through its geometrical tolerances and the development of a measurement strategy”. The prize was presented in Berlin on November 3, 2016, during the awards ceremony.

Specially coated surfaces on the frequently touched plastic and metal parts of folding tables, arm rests and seat backs offer increased protection for passengers from germs and bacteria. Cleaning the seats takes less time and effort.

Recaro Aircraft Seating has been implementing its Lean strategy consistently for many years and honored four of its top suppliers with its Supplier Awards.

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany / SWIEBODZIN, Poland. Since 2006, Recaro Aircraft Seating has been producing aircraft seats at the Polish plant in Swiebodzin, about 100 kilometers east of Frankfurt/Oder, Germany. A state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for the final assembly of aircraft seats spans the new 10,000-square-meter building, completed in 2012. Recaro employs more than 150 workers at its Polish site.

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany. In collaboration with the Goethe Institute, the globally operating company Recaro Aircraft Seating has made internships available to refugees in Schwaebisch Hall. This is a reflection of the company’s commitment to social responsibility and to making a contribution to the occupational and social integration of refugees in Germany. Furthermore, Recaro has made a five-figure donation to the German language institute for its continued work.
